How do you solve a problem like... traffic in Galway?

"57% of all private car trips take place entirely within the city boundary, trips that could, and perhaps should, be taken by public transport, cycling and walking."
New roads mean more traffic, not less — somebody should tell Galway County Council
New roads cause more traffic, not less, but that doesn't stop people from wanting them. It's time to change tack, writes Ciarán Ferrie

The #GRR is a noose around Galway's neck. Its not going to help us, its time to move on. @galwaycitycouncil.bsky.social just get on with the other bits and pieces that wont be impacted by the construction or otherwise of the feckin' road. You can still make our streets safer.

Did you know that electricity is often taxed more than fossil fuels in the EU?

It’s a policy choice that makes electrification less competitive.

Our @regassistproj.bsky.social report explores how taxes and levies shape this imbalance and what can be done.
