I saw a narrative a few years ago that said you shouldn't get mad if someone misgenders you if you're not dressed like the gender you identify, and that is bullshit. In reality, people should accept that not everyone conforms to traditional standards and stop assuming who someone is.

Putting gender on things such as button placement, fabric, food, personalities, toys, hair, colours, etc, is ridiculous. Often, it is unnecessary and bases itself on gender stereotypes. It also ignores trans people, especially those who don't conform to gender norms or who don't want to transition.

As fun as reading modern fics is, I always struggle finishing mine because currently, the modern world is so capitalistic and uninteresting in the West.
