Putting gender on things such as button placement, fabric, food, personalities, toys, hair, colours, etc, is ridiculous. Often, it is unnecessary and bases itself on gender stereotypes. It also ignores trans people, especially those who don't conform to gender norms or who don't want to transition.

As fun as reading modern fics is, I always struggle finishing mine because currently, the modern world is so capitalistic and uninteresting in the West. Minimalism is dull, music is generic, and games are lifeless. There's nothing inspiring about it for me. I love colour, maximalism, and subversion.

Spoil Lan Xichen. Make him feel loved. Shower him in praise. Make sure he feels like an equal, not an accessory, or a peacemaker. Let him know the little behaviours he does are adorable. Make him feel like he's not just anyone. Dress him in beautiful clothes and be just as interesting.
