For those not in the know - The Escapist claimed that Blue Prince had also utilised AI after E33 had an award stripped, but have now retracted this statement because it was completely baseless.
Ridiculous lack of journalistic integrity though, as I was wondering where the claim had originated.

There is no AI used in Blue Prince. The game was built and crafted with full human instinct by Tonda Ros and his team at
@dogubomb.bsky.social.
It is the result of eight years of development, fuelled by imagination and creativity, and we are extremely proud of what Tonda has achieved.

there are, and have been, legitimate procedural and machine learning techs: they handle the work internally in a program/system, and aren't necessarily reliant on the mega-data infrastructures that genAI is infamous for, but slimeballs took up "AI" to lump it together to finesse billions away
If we’re going to get really no quarter about genAI usage, I’m going to need people to learn the difference between AI and genAI real fast.

From 2024. Apparently missed that the first time around. This just destroys my hype for Dark Heresy. If Rogue Trader was made without AI “helping” the concept art phase, there is zero reason to push it on to Dark Heresy development. I am gutted.

A lot of companies seem to be under the impression that we only care if gAI was used in the final product and using it for concept art/placeholder art is ok.
gAl is poison that should be nowhere near any creative process. Not a single asset. Not a single placeholder sign.

personally think any ai use at any stage in the creation process should be criticized so companies don't get comfortable with even the smallest amount of it in their works

I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.
