I don’t have a podcast yet, still distributing trifold handouts covering various topics with a blank response section for anyone who wants to be a guest in my brochure.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Cleaning out birdhouses and feeders. This one’s well made. I’ll order a couple more like it. If I knew woodworking or was allowed near power saws (clumsy) I’d build some. 🐦 🏠 An adorable family used it last year.

What if "abundance" is a state we've already (largely) achieved?

My addition to the teetering stack of reviews of Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson's new book, "Abundance," at @frontiergroup.bsky.social.

The problems of "Abundance"
In their book, “Abundance,” Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson offer a prescription for what ails America. Unfortunately, they misdiagnose the disease.

To be clear: Some of the specific proposals and critiques of governance in "Abundance" are things I agree with, or am open to. But the authors are clear that they *do not* want the book to be read this way, but rather as a sweeping argument for reorienting politics around a particular set of goals.
