Politically, this year has been a shitshow. But one good thing came out of it—I’m more involved in my community than ever. I’ve connected with so many wonderful passionate people who want to make the world a better place, and that gives me hope.

A very sad trend in prisons. So much of the joy of a handwritten letter is physically touching something that a loved one spent time and care crafting for you. A photocopy simply isn’t the same.
When I and many of the men around me were at our hope’s end, letters and pictures were the knots at the end of the rope that we clung to.

When mail is digitized, it becomes sterile – no longer a precious handwritten card that smells like my gramma’s perfume.

So pissed at Gmail right now. Turning off smart features makes it totally unusable—no more auto-sorting emails so that promotions/junk go into separate inboxes. Turning on smart features gives them permission to train AI on all your communications. Total bullshit.
