This is reminiscent of when the PSNI called the riots in Ballymena "racist thuggery" but the airwaves were swamped with politicians doing the "legitimate concerns" bit.

Gardaí said earlier reports that fireworks had been thrown into the building were not accurate and that following initial investigations they believe the fire was "started deliberately by person or persons unknown".

It should also go without saying: don’t actively be a dick to dogs. Worf & Chewie are especially loathsome of Hallowe’en because of two separate incidents with fireworks, at least one of which was deliberate (and over a week after the night itself).

Why does my horrible neighbour have to be so LOUD? Just woke at 5am thinking there was a goblin in the attic but was just them goose-stepping their gaff in breezeblock Skechers, hurling furniture. Can’t just shut the front door; they’ve to smash it off the hinges and under-arm it to work #spéirgorm

I notice retailers are increasingly adding an “opt out” to Mother’s Day & Father’s Day emails. This is great. Now apply it to other holidays. Christmas is not a happy time of year for everyone and yet the bombardment has already started, with no obvious means of escape. #spéirgorm

My only shame, being that I live in Co. Monaghan, that my constituency is the only one that gave Heather (since she’s decided on a mononym now, like a Brazilian footballer) a win. Not surprising, given how parochial the thinking is in these parts, but I had a hope she’d be whitewashed. #áras25
