The negotiations charade is making people lose track of the real story of the Ru-Ukraine war. Ru refuses a ceasefire. Pu insists he wants to achieve ALL his goals. Ru wants "peace through Ukrainian surrender". Any discussion of Donbas, Zaporizhzhia power plant, security guarantees is a distraction.

A host country is not obliged to accept any “diplomat.”
If a proposed envoy brings an agenda that contradicts diplomacy itself—dialogue, respect, peaceful relations—the host state has the right to refuse accreditation. Diplomacy cannot be used as a loophole for interference, coersion or provocation.

On 18/12 the EU council agreed to support Ukraine through EU borrowing on the capital markets for €90 billion over the next two years. They also reserved the use of immobilised Russian assets as backing for this loan. Ukraine will repay once it receives compensation for the damage caused by the war
