They/Them

Casually a hardcore Nintendo fan.
The Game Awards has become quite the punching bag over the years, and for good reason.

The jury's gameplay bias is absurd. Story-focused genres like visual novels are never nominated for best story, music and rhythm games are never nominated for best music, and there's always a bias for publishers.

Many people celebrated Matt Mercer being cast as Ganondorf after playing Ganondorf in "There Will Be Brawl."

But did you know that ProZD/SungWon Cho, EN voice actor for Calamo in Age of Imprisonment, had previously uploaded a skit that implicitly makes fun of Breath of the Wild's 900 Korok Seeds?

The other area that usually causes huge drops in frame rate isn't performing badly whatsoever, other than the noticable drops in resolution.

Used Sooga to suspend some of those projectile animations, and it still barely left a dent in the frame rate.

Another notable location in this mission is the outpost with Electric Lizalfos and Electric Lynel.

Normally, I would consider this to be the laggiest part of the whole game. This is true for Switch 2 Handheld mode.

However, Docked mode seems to be able to withstand such high amount of activity.

I've attempted to replicate this in Docked mode. Turns out I pushed myself into conditions even more prone to drops in frame rate.

It... was actually playable.

I guess the only explanation is that the Switch 2 dock "de-underclocks" the Switch 2 by a much larger margin than the Switch 1 on Docked.

I wasn't able to trigger a game crash, but I was able to get the game to momentarily freeze.

This footage was captured on Nintendo Switch 2 in Handheld mode.

After a little over 50 hours, I have achieved 100% Map Completion in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.

That's roughly the same amount of time taken to get 100% in Age of Calamity without DLC.

The two games have very similar approaches to post-game content, but I think AoC did it much better.

This is how much I've progressed in #HyruleWarriors: Age of Imprisonment so far.

One thing I've finally been able to do was complete the PAL Hidden Mansion in Luigi's Mansion, and I've accomplished it with Rank A, the highest score on the GameCube version.

Even though I've played 3DS Hidden Mansion before, PAL Hidden Mansion was still a challenge.

Regardless, having a >40 GB game means it's probably a good idea to consider purchasing the physical version of the game.

Load times would be slightly slower, but I doubt it would impact overall gameplay. performance.

Multiple different file sizes are reported for #HyruleWarriors: Age of Imprisonment across different regions.

NoA and NoE currently lists it at 42.8 GB.

NCL (Japan) lists it at 42.7 GB.

Download cards at retailers in Japan list it at 44 GB.

One burning question I have about Age of Imprisonment is whether or not it reuses some parts of Age of Calamity's soundtrack.

The four tracks that have a chance of being reused are the Hinox, Talus, and Molduga theme, as well as the Victory theme, as these songs are renditions of BotW music.

So far, Age of Imprisonment has a TGS demo, a PAX Aus demo, and now a retailer demo.

I have not found the time yet to venture into a store to try out the demo, but I am looking forward to it.

Here's hoping they still release an eShop demo with transferrable save data. I really want to play this!

Taking some photos to celebrate the partial reveal of the name of the Link-esque construct in Age of Imprisonment.

There is a newer render that features a black hood. Perhaps I should grab a screenshot of that one as well.

I can almost definitively say that Nintendo of America has done a terrible job marketing #HyruleWarriors: Age of Imprisonment.

I think they have severely misjudged the NA market again. It always feels like Nintendo of Europe is taking bigger risks.

This is starting to feel like Xenoblade.

Word of advice to anyone watching Nintendo Directs simultaneously:

The Nintendo Today! app broadcasts the Direct about 5-10 seconds earlier than YouTube. If you are all watching together on your own screens and don't want surprises to be ruined, watch it through Nintendo Today!

Nintendo has finally added #HyruleWarriors: Age of Imprisonment to the Nintendo Today! app. I wonder if this delay has something to do with Koei Tecmo publishing the game in Japan.

Let this be a rare occasion where I genuinely get political.

Everyone, I am urging you to block the official White House account, and any other associated US federal government account, on Bluesky.

They have demonstrated unprecedented levels of unprofessionalism and discrimination on Twitter.

Given the release of Legends Z-A this past Thursday, the earliest I am predicting Age of Imprisonment's demo release date is October 23.

So far, demos have been playable at Tokyo Game Show and PAX Aus.

Previously, Age of Calamity has its demo released 23 days before its release (Oct 28-Nov 20).

"The Fiercest of Foes" challenge mission in Age of Calamity has a section where every Electric Lizalfos is programmed to only use lightning attacks.

As a result, this is where you will experience the worst performance in the entire game.

This footage of was captured on #NintendoSwitch2.
October 12, 2025 at 5:05 AM
I have managed to cause Age of Calamity to crash for a 3rd time on my #NintendoSwitch2.

This game is in desperate need of an optimization update, because there are some sessions where I end up wasting close to an hour's worth of gameplay just because of a crash.

Today, I learned that The Thousand-Year Door had two slightly different versions of the main theme.
October 7, 2025 at 1:47 PM
Age of Imprisonment might just be the most under-marketed Nintendo-published title in the west this generation, second to Metroid Prime 4.

The Nintendo Today! app doesn't even have it, and both Nintendo of America and Koei Tecmo US have been incredibly quiet about this game.

...on the other hand, specific movesets can absolutely break the game.

Monk Maz Koshia is one of the characters who absolutely shreds most boss fights.

Age of Calamity is an example of a Nintendo game that hits two opposite extremes in difficulty.

On one hand, you have something that becomes overwhelmingly (but not unreasonably) difficult...
