Sunday soccer update - it’s playoffs, so that means things are even rowdier than normal! Four yellows evenly split, probably should’ve been eight. I stopped two breakaways and had a diving save on a last minute free kick to preserve the clean sheet, we won 1-0.

I’m sorry to anyone who continues to be spammed by conspiracy theories about me. If you see any please tag me so that I can debunk.
I was getting a lot of this stuff in my feed, then I unfollowed one Large Account and almost all of it went away.

I guess one point in Bluesky's favor is that people who unsubtly use targeted harassment tactics here have a harder time ginning up critical mass than they did on the old site.

One of my pet peeves (probably my biggest) is the common confusion of "everyday" and "every day". I shrug it off for social media stuff but you'd expect copywriters to get it right, right? I mean, these people are being paid to write copy. It's right there in the name. See alt text for more steam 😡

Oof. Thank goodness we have mechanical assistance in keeping our house cool. I’m sure it’s stressing the grid though. Fingers crossed we don’t lose power

Listen, all you pangram-quoters out there. The quick brown fox JUMPS, fer crissakes. If you write "jumped" then there's no s in your sentence, and you lose a thousand pangram points.

We see the cliff edge ahead. We all simply walk blindly over it. Amazingly, there's just not enough willpower to turn away.

I wish it had lasted longer

I finally finished last year's AoC. Needed some help with 2023's day 24, but I had fun writing std::ops::* functions for my #rustlang solution. Now I've got all 500 stars! Taking a moment to enjoy the accomplishment before the new year.

HARD ❌

It was a queer, sultry summer, the summer they electrocuted the Rosenbergs, and I didn't know what I was doing in New York

EASY ✅

That summer was sizzling, and so were the Rosenbergs

When did “dinner and a movie” become “brunch, a nap, and a matinee”?
