if they suspend habeas corpus “for migrants” the response needs to be a general strike on a level that will shut down the entire country. to continue working as normal would be to tacitly sanction the destruction of the entire idea of America as a free society.

I think about this all the time. And it's the main reason why I'm not only anti Trump, I'm anti Trump supporter.
For historians/ppl who know history: did the German public who were complicit with the rise of nazism ever realize they were the bad guys? After the end of the war, did the public by & large understand they were wrong? Or were they just upset they lost? I know you can’t generalize to everyone but…
