The former U.S. pardon attorney, Elizabeth G. Oyer, was terminated Friday after she opposed restoring actor Mel Gibson’s rights to carry a gun, her spokesperson and two Justice Dept. officials familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

This is an excellent summary of our situation, which is quite bad.
It’s not just that they’re breaking laws. They’re breaking laws that are centrally important to our constitutional order and are constitutive of its identity. They are targeting the best parts of what democracy has built here.

Most of my stress comes from the current state of… well everything but it’s the push I needed to let go of Meta, Amazon, Loblaws, etc. Dedicating my time and money to support businesses that align with humanity has been refreshing.
