This. Would love to see pro, college, and high school teams join this site.
No, Bluesky is not dying. But here's what I'd like to see more of:

1. Sports, sports, sports.
2. Movies/TV chatter (loved the Andor conversations and memes!)
3. Funny and inane posts. Not everything needs to be about Trump being awful or Democrats and the Media failing to meet the moment.

Hey @mcuban.bsky.social, could you do us Chicago fans a favor and buy the Bulls? We're tired of this franchise being stuck perpetually in mediocrity.
The Bulls collapsed in a 109-90 blowout to the Heat — their third consecutive season ending with a play-in loss to Miami.

What an embarrassing way to finish a season. A dismal indictment of how far this team is from competitiveness.

Illinois #6 in Midwest Region, plays winner of Texas-Xavier on Friday in Milwaukee. Liking it.

Man, I know Dick Vitale is gonna have a field day criticizing the selections and seeds.
March 16, 2025 at 10:23 PM
He can't. This is an absolute joke. North Carolina does NOT deserve to be in, not with just one Quad 1 win.
This is an interesting wrinkle: The chair of the selection committee is the UNC AD. Can he even really answer questions about the most controversial selection — UNC landing on the right side of the bubble?

Two days ago it was 79 degrees. Today it's snowing. Don't you all just appreciate this lovely and unpredictable Chicagoland weather? We went from summer to winter in two days flat. 😡

Glad I'm not watching Trump's address to Congress. By all accounts, sounds like a MAGA rally. And shame on Speaker Mike Johnson for ejecting Texas rep Al Green just for voicing his opinion.

Justin Turner inks 1-year deal w/Cubs. I know he's 40 years old, but he can still rake with the best of them and he usually comes through in clutch situations. Good pickup IMO.

Sad part is, even if his MAGA heir apparent JD Vance loses in '28, it's going to take a long time to undo all the damage you-know-who has done both domestically and internationally.
I knew it would be bad. But even this has exceeded my expectations.

Sad news. Bob was truly one of a kind, and his candor and wit will be missed. He'd better have a front-row seat in baseball's broadcasting heaven alongside Jack Buck, Harry Caray, and Vin Scully among others.
Legendary Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker has died at the age of 90, the team announced.

No, George, the only way the Bears will start being consistently successful is if you and your family hand over the franchise to someone who sincerely wants to win. Please do Bears' fans a favor and do the right thing: SELL.

TBH I'm not all that confident with Ryan Poles getting this head coach hire right. I sure as hell don't want Mike McCarthy or Brian Flores, but I'm afraid Poles will pick one of them for the job. Because a more qualified guy like Ben Johnson wants his own GM.

No other choice. Wise decision.
NEWS: The Sugar Bowl has been officially postponed after the New Orleans attack, which is being investigated as an act of terrorism.

The game will be played 24 hours later, on Jan. 2.
January 1, 2025 at 7:21 PM
If I were the head of either the CFP or Sugar Bowl committees, I would be looking to postpone tonight's game until at least Thursday, maybe Friday. Now is not the time to play a football game. It's important, no question, but in moments like this it should take a back seat.

Good thing I'm watching the Braggin' Rights Illinois-Missouri 🏀 Classic, because I see given the posts that the Bears are being the Bears as usual: comically bad.
December 22, 2024 at 6:45 PM
I see that fans of Alabama, Miami, Ole Miss, and South Carolina are in arms about last night's Indiana loss & SMU's struggles today. They say neither team deserves to be in the CFP.

Well, your teams had their chances to make their case, but they all lost to lesser teams. Simple as that.

The White Sox might lose 120 games again in '25. With Crochet gone and Robert likely next to get traded, there's not a single player on that team that commands attention. Please sell the damn team Jerry Reinsdorf to someone who actually wants to win.

Also, no one is signing a National Letter of Intent. That has been eliminated. I've seen news orgs using that phrase today and that's a little scary. We need to be precise. The athletes are signing financial aid agreements that are binding for the school, but not the athlete.

Why did the Bears have Matt Eberflus hold his press conference this morning?

It reminds me of the Raiders allowing Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler to run their trade deadline last year and then fire them 5 hours later.

The Bears having Eberflus do his typical press conference this morning and then firing him two hours later really says it all about the organization.
November 29, 2024 at 5:38 PM
So, it looks as if Matt Eberflus will remain Bears' head coach. Sadly, can't say I'm surprised. This is a cheap franchise that doesn't want to pay two head coaches in the same season. The Bears need modern ownership, not the mom-and-pop approach the McCaskeys operate with.
