ICE Gestapo targeting journalists in Chicago.

Usually this would be a big story but it’s just another day in the Trump Redux.

Calling on Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins to stand up in the name of women. If Social Security goes off the rails for any amount of time, elderly women will be vulnerable. Historically, women were paid less than men and have lower benefits. And if they never married, they have no spousal benefits.

Democrats! Start NOW using excerpts from Trump's speech to put out ads and start filling the coffers for the next election cycles!

I hear a lot of criticism of Democrats who didn't protest the speech somehow. I'm proud to know that Representative Raskin and Senator VanHollen from my state of Maryland walked out, as well as others. Seems cameras at some point stopped showing those who were leaving. Wonder who told them to stop.

So, according to Trump's speech, there are thousands and thousands of people over the age of 120 receiving Social Security. So why don't they just cut off the benefits for all those people over 120 years old and then tell us how much money it saved. Anybody wanna guess how much that will be?

...And let's not forget all those public servants in the federal government who have been accused of being liars and frauds. Their crime was making a living by serving the American people.
And, of course, Republicans celebrated canceling protections for the environment.
Where are the good guys?

I swore I wasn't going to watch this speech, but I couldn't help myself. And now I'm just sick to my stomach.
Republicans actually applauded for the withdrawal of foreign aid. Starving helpless children and stopping life-saving medications and mosquito nets seems pretty popular with Republicans.

If you need a way to direct your energy today, may I suggest contacting your members of Congress to advocate for dementia research?

It'll give you that warm "did something" feeling and is a huge and important area of research that affects literally almost all of us at some point:
Ensure the voices of people living with dementia and their caregivers are heard. Urge your members of Congress to reaffirm their commitment to the Alzheimer’s community today. We’ve made great progress and we cannot afford to stop now. bit.ly/alzaction

Thank you to Senators Van Hollen and Alsobrooks for hosting this evening's town hall for Maryland. Please keep standing up for us and keep fighting the good fight. Let us know what we, as citizens, can do. These are stressful times, and Republicans have abandoned us, but we know you stand with us.

Maybe orchestras and companies that normally perform at the Kennedy Center should find one of the many other venues in Washington to perform at? I suspect many of us would prefer to attend concerts, theater, etc., in an atmosphere of freedom, not under the patronage of a wannabe tinpot dictator.
