By the way, this has been the Democrats party for decades. They’ve skated by for years on this “at least we’re not republicans” bullshit, meanwhile enabling them at every turn.

This is just the time during which you can ill afford their feckless ways.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

And I've been doing politics for long enough to know clearly that the entire Senate Democratic caucus agreed to this decision to fold. Open your eyes. The 8 who "broke" did so with the complete blessing of Schumer and their colleagues. You don't have to play along because this is not a game. The end

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

I wrote this a year ago. I wrote about Trump’s campaign of raci anxiety when he won the first time as did others. Look to see who is being platformed in this America that many of us predicted, and who has been disappeared. That will reveal a lot about this moment and what power wants us to believe.

In the midst of all that we are facing, I want us to think about who we are being told to look to for understanding in this moment, who is being propped up as the voice of wisdom, and ask how right were they in predicting this, a year ago, 5, 8 years ago, and then ask why they are being centered now

Last week @runforsomething.net helped elect a socialist in Atlanta, a former Republican in rural PA & at least 122 others, (including 35 red to blue flips). We’ve been building the big tent - tight on values, flexible on policy, and most importantly, centered on community.

The regime despises poor people, yes. And importantly it does not fear poor people as a political force. It's important to take both of these together to understand what they are doing with SNAP. They do not believe that they will incur lasting political costs for their current actions.

got to post-Zohran blog @thecut.com — multiple election outcomes on Tuesday showed that refusing to fold on trans people, migrants, Muslims, and marginalized communities while pushing kitchen table issues is a winning strategy. the pundit class’s “Decision to Win”-style arguments can be put to bed
Welcome to Woke 2.0
Democrats won by running on kitchen-table issues and accepting or embracing trans people and immigrants.

We’re up to 124 wins - including 35!!!! red to blue flips — and 9 more going to run offs. We still have 37 races left outstanding, but far and away the best election night @runforsomething.net has ever had.
167 races called, 110 wins confirmed and 8 moving to run offs. 😈

More to come!
With 158 races called, we've got 103 @runforsomething.net wins, nearly a quarter of which are red-to-blue flips.

This is a great article. If Republicans want to fight over healthcare and education - which is what most of their anti-trans attacks end up being around, that is ground that Dems can turn around and crush them on.
For @msnbc.com I wrote about how Tuesday's election gives Democrats the blueprint for overcoming Republican anti-trans attacks and how thus should settle all the talk about throwing trans people under the bus.

Opinion | Democrats’ election wins showed they don't need to hide their support for trans rights
Republicans repeated Trump's anti-trans strategy from 2024 and lost big. This should be instructive for Democrats.

Posted this elsewhere: Patriarchy ruins the workplace every day. No universal healthcare nor reproductive care, no affordable childcare, no paid time off for pregnancy, maternity leave nor family support, because the template for ‘employee’ is a male, unattached worker paid as little as possible.
I'm too tired for this sh*t.
