As long suspected, the Trump administration’s sole objective surrounding the Russo-Ukrainian War appears to normalization of relations with RU, for profit.

Everything else is an inconvenient obstacle to fulfillment of that objective.

The article also points to crazy levels of naiveté.
Extraordinary WSJ reporting today that unveils the extent to which Trump, Witkoff, Kushner and US business executives are salivating over business deals with Russia while Putin’s forces kidnap Ukranian children and bomb civilians in their apartments.

Levels of concern for naturalized citizens ratchet up several notches.

Obviously it’s a LOT worse for some than others, depending on where you came from to be in America, but none of us, no matter how long ago they jumped through the hoops, should have any illusions.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Wondering to myself, “which concert or nightclub did the MOST long-term damage to my hearing?”

Pretty sure it was that indoor Sonic Youth concert.

Its was like I had pillows on, heck, in, my ears for the better part of a week.

Not to mention the high-pitched WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

The sun was shining through the window onto the floor of my office today, because it’s that time of year when the angles are right.

And I was reminded of how much I miss my little gray menace.

18 months w/o Anyanka. One month for every year she was with us.

This was always coming.

First it will be the Green Card holders from the 19 countries.

Then green card holders from everywhere.

And then naturalized citizens.

All focused on finding any pretext/excuse for revoling status or citizenship and deporting the person.

The announcement comes a day after an attack on National Guard troops near the White House. Authorities have identified the suspect as an Afghan national.

Been watching Highway to Heaven and I’m super-convinced that Mark is actually a dude who doesn’t know he’s dead and is being mentored as a trainee angel to work his way out of purgatory.

Am I the only one who finds it difficult to believe that the literal 10s of billions of untraceable drug money washing through the USA doesn't find its way into the hands of politicians, judges, or police, etc.

Cos that is what we are supposed to believe.

And it definitely did in the 70s & 80s.

So, is the USG representing RU at the Geneva talks?
November 23, 2025 at 10:36 PM
So the starting premise is “what can Ukraine accomplish by way of softening Russia’s terms.”

Quietly acknowledging RU has no interest in peace.

After all, we’re never asking what compromises is RU ready to make to secure Ukrainian agreement to a ceasefire/peace?

Still don’t understand who the customer base for Tesla Cybercab is supposed to be.

If the alleged self-driving actually worked the obvious customers would be some sort of fleet operation.

But they appear to be expecting to sell to real people.

There are only so many reviewers & influencers.

I'm genuinely surprised at how sketchy and inconsistent information on Mexican "cartels" in the 1980s and 1990s is.

As an outsider I am utterly bewildered by the politics of the UK Labour Party.

Crushing electoral victory against a corrupt party trading on anti-immigrant bigotry as a centrepiece, so they adopted the positions of their defeated enemy.

WUWT?

Presumably they have some sensible policy on the side?

I really don’t know how you would even begin, but the need for a thorough-going reconstruction of how US prisons & jails operate to eliminate basic cruelty & abuse of prisoners should be self-evident to anyone paying the slightest attention.

Independent of we imprison too many people.

So, do local police forces operate some sort of “operation” where supermarkets etc. are REQUIRED to hire a police officer to stand around hitting on staff, texting, arguing with people on their phones, and/or sleeping in their cruisers, or they’ll suffer some kind of penalty?

Today’s Larry Summers thing is a classic example of men living in their own world in which all women will find them massively attractive.

They really have no conception of women, especially younger women legitimately not being into them.

No self-reflection, just lust & power.

They’re awful

So, I generally find Alex on Autos to be one of the more reliably sensible youtube auto reviewers, despite his quirky need for wireless CarPlay etc.

But his insistence on pronouncing Toyota as TODA drives me to distraction.

Not just not Trip Hop, also not just British.

High on my list of “wish I’d gotten to see them live when they were big” bands.

Veruca Salt seem to oscillate between ignored and dismissed, but they were pretty awesome, in my opinion, for what it’s worth.

Clearly on a nostalgia trip now, but its not all Trip Hop. The Prodigy were definitely refreshing, and dare we say, energizing.

High on the list of albums to NOT listen to when driving, if I want to be speed-limited.
