I wish there was a way to block people on Slack.

Would definitely use it when co-workers replace their profile pics with that Chat GPT nonsense that's supposed to look like Myazaki's work.

Incredible. The Trump administration calculated "tariff rates" by taking the US trade deficit with the respective country and dividing it by the country's exports to the US. And then the tariff rate of the US is often just set by cutting that made-up "tariff rate" in half.

Was all excited for the new season of The White Lotus, but was even more excited for the new main title theme music. However, it's straight-up awful. Ruined the whole experience for me.

Formerly redlined neighborhoods have far fewer trees than those that were not redlined. Residents don’t benefit from how trees help us live better —like absorbing water so there are fewer catastrophic floods and providing shade so there are fewer heat-related illnesses.

This is so eloquent and really resonates with me. Part of why I found the show so interesting. It was a whole lot more like real life than I thought it would be.
My read on Severance: the moral separation modern capitalism urges us to adopt – i.e. that we can & should accept different ethical standards in business life vs. personal life – is actually a splintering of the self. Integrity doesn’t just mean honesty: it means wholeness.
