If anyone is unsure of the mechanisms by which the Brown-Trump agreement facilitate government oversight of course evals, I’ve laid it out here in response to a skeptic.
Sure! It’s not obvious if you don’t know how course evals, title vi/vii/ix complaints, employment privacy laws, gov’t oversight of agreements like this work. The agreement facilitates gov’t oversight of course evals in 3 ways.

(1) Brown has agreed to send course evals to the feds [1/5]

I received one of the 232 NIH grant "terminations" sent to scientists at Columbia last night. My research focuses on improving maternal and child health in the US. Also affected: ongoing clinical trials, research training programs, and research centers that aim to improve the health of Americans.

Call Governor Kathy Hochul to demand she reverse her decision. Be nice. Don’t name call or cuss out her staff—don’t give her a reason to justify the cancellation. Use your smart words.

A new McCarthy era is upon us. Stupid, depressing, and dangerous as ever. I wonder whose name will carry the dunce cap in the history books. Too many are complicit. I’ll need to find upset and action, but for now I’m feeling grief at the dehumanization inherent to all this.
