Encouraging info from CM Chavez. My issue here is that the entire history of Big Tech is doing illegal things and daring people to stop them, which rarely happens. We need to say a robot can't drive AND provide a framework for strong penalties when the companies inevitably ignore that law.
My understanding is that state law requires a human driver.

According to MPR, Waymo hired lobbyists to explore the possibility of changing state laws to allow for the operation of autonomous vehicles.

I’d be supportive of an ordinance that requires a human to be physically present.
