Hot tip for centrist and moderate politicians and leaders who are afraid of losing major donors: young people and Black leaders are not letting go of the atrocities in Gaza. Nor should they.

I’m not surprised that Dump is ranting about The Boss, what I AM surprised by is that he somehow cares about…skincare? I somehow think he isn’t suited to being a skincare influencer

Re: the DNC and David Hogg, or Nancy Pelosi and AOC: it is really, really frustrating that the older and younger generations of Dems and progressives CAN’T GET ALONG, it makes us supporters feel as if you are just handing over the W’s to the corrupt and incompetent Republicans

On the new Superman trailer: I feel like the new guy gets the expression I’ve come to expect from Superman exactly right: the look of innocent determination to do good. It also struck me how easily that character trait can tip over into naive stupidity - when Superman acts like a himbo.

My son and I have a podcast on movies that we do just for ourselves, although a few friends here and there listen in, but as a cultural observation, it feels like every celebrity I know is in the business of hosting a podcast or appearing on their friends’ podcasts

I worked with Deloitte consultants during a mercifully brief corporate stint and I came away with an impression of rapacious senior partners driving huge teams of very young people who knew nothing, all to bill millions of dollars for producing really ugly slide decks in the middle of the night

I had to break a serious addiction to the Spelling Bee and Connections and I keep on getting signs that it was the right thing to do.
I'm still not clear why the @nytimes.com went along the idea that a presidential library owning a jet for the personal use of the ex-president was anything that real presidential libraries do. Weird.

And yet, the GOP wants women to start pumping out more babies…
Brooklyn Leonard was 14 weeks pregnant when her water broke, but her doctor wrote she could only intervene when there was “concern for maternal mortality.”

It was only after visits to 3 Houston hospitals over 5 days that Leonard was able to get the care she needed.

I love seeing the BTS photos from the cast and crew of Sinners. They’re also a good reminder that ultimately, film sets are workplaces, and you can always collectively choose to create a supportive and collaborative environment over a toxic and alienating one. (This was also the lesson of Ted Lasso)

Trump is insanely good at churning out a nonstop stream of threats and creating chaos. However, we need to get sooooo much better at distinguishing which things deserve our attention and activism and which ones just…don’t. I know it’s exhausting but let’s all try, ‘kay?

One of my sources of joy these days is seeing how Michelle Obama, my forever First Lady, is evolving her image and fashion - so much style, agency, power, and freedom from GAF conveyed in her hair, her fashion, her posture. YES!!! (Not going to say yass b/c I am old)

I think that Lindsey Graham’s persona reads as someone who is desperately lonely. In that respect, invitations to play golf and hang at Mar A Lago act as raindrops on a very parched surface. What is harder to accept are the people who somehow vote to keep this cringefest of a human in power.

It is interesting how my nonstop unsubscribe clicks and STOP texts have not yet convinced anyone that selling my email and cell to others is, in fact, worthless. I know this is weird, but I actually like to make my own decisions about which candidates to support and which products to buy.

Kidnapping.

Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping.

Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking.

A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.
stop calling things deportation just because they call it deportation.

-You cannot legally deport people without due process.

-You cannot legally deport citizens.

-They are defining down deportation to break the law.
Leavitt confirmed that the WH is working on deporting US citizens to El Salvador

I mean: billionaires trying to virtue-signal thru their philanthropies (e.g., Bezos Earth Fund) while also supporting Trump and companies and policies that directly counter what their philanthropies are purportedly trying to achieve is yet another form of Republican hypocrisy
