Already I am pessimistic about Shaffer’s ability to use research to evaluate a policy given her stance that needle collections containers increase drug use. Research showing no significant changes in violent crime, property crime, medical incidents, whatever has been around for years at this point.

Like I’m sorry that we need specific proprietary software that is not in the software atlas, but there is a ton of very specialized niche research at the U, and you should have a process in place to handle specialized niche purchases that doesn’t take over 6 fucking months. My god.

Figuring out how to run a research study is awful. Too many entities to deal with. SPA, UIS, HST, OGC, purchasing, no wonder UMP would want to go to Fairview and make it easier on themselves! But U leadership is so worried that I do wonder if it’s as bad for the med school as they say. Idk

I deeply distrust Cunningham, the Regents, and OGC but at the same time I like Tolar and if he thinks it’s bad, I feel like it’s bad. What did the U do to get themselves cut out of negotiations? Admin burden at the U is awful so I sympathize with UMP on that note.
