Living on Gunai-Kurnai country in Latrobe City, Victoria, Australia. Wondering WTF happened to integrity in the last council election. Gardener whose veggie excess goes to Food Bank. Book hoarder.
This "person" is finally on the public record.

I cannot find the earlier posts, but some of my friends may remember a melt-down here when he went into the Grampians fund-raising.

The part of me that is still zealous & idealistic about the teachings of Jesus says this: a good church will welcome this inquiry because it will recognise the harm done by coercive cults &high control fringe groups.

A bad church will tell on themselves by crying “persecution

The Australian Christian Lobby has come out & said the Victorian Inquiry into cults is going to be an attack on religious freedom.
No. It’s not. It’s about behaviour not belief - stamping out unethical manipulative coercive control and exploitation

What's with the giant Cappy?

At the end of the row. I had basil beside it, and gave them magic banana peel water few times. Must be that. First it went all rangy with no flowers. "I won't do that again".
Now twice the height of others and loaded with flowers.
Late, but bloody great.

Interesting. Man Up is a church affiliated outreach group claiming to “raise fathers to save our children.”
Save them by campaigning against LGBT rights apparently. While Man Up is of NZ origins. It also has affiliates here. Who? One guess

Beware of Murdoch papers
Totally disgusted by Melbourne Herald Sun
Apart from everything else, I have never had such arrogant and rude behaviour from a call centre!
Definitely not fit to line bird cages.
Any suggestions? I have a few ideas of what I will be doing next, but more welcome.

Zukes - Help Needed!

I once lived where the only time you had to lock your car was during zuke season, as if found unlocked it would be filled.

This is PART of a photo at a nearby N'hood House Food Bank, from a home grower.

Help needed with non-egg ways to use them? Eggs not cheap.

This is where my garden excess goes - ours reopens on 20 January, so I can stop doing the rounds with cukes. :)

Shopping at Australian food charities can be more expensive than supermarkets. What’s gone wrong?
Falling donations and unprecedented demand are pushing the cost of essential items ever upwards

That sickle looks rather interesting. Are they commonly around in good garden stores?
Great gardening weather in Gippsland today. I've got my new glamorous gardeners sleeves on (white was not such a clever choice) and my Barnel sickle ready for some weeding. Why did it take me so long to find how good a sickle was for weeding without disturbing mulch. #garden #gardeningau

Greek Basil ???

Did anyone else get sucked in by this? There was a shortage of Sweet Basil seedlings at Bunnings, so I thought I would try this. I think this is how paint stripper would taste.

Hope the worms like it.

Don't usually grow brown onions, they are so cheap. But the commercial ones don't store well, and are huge bulbs full of water. So this is one punnet, with the clumps into the garden until big enough to lift, divide and plant out singly. Harvested summer solstice. #gardeningau #Aussieveggiegardens

The Fire Fighter Rose. A house warming gift in 2016. The very best long stemmed, highly fragrant rose I have ever had. When I see it I think of all the amazing volunteers in the CFA working hard for Victorians. Especially on the 5th anniversary of the Mallacoota fire.

Looking for Australian Gardeners

Just in the hope that a few of us might congregate behind #gardeningau to make it easier to find each other. 💚Love to see what others are doing.

Here, for attention, is a photo of my current mobile seedlings nursery. I need to move them out of the sun a lot.

Who has a Potting Bench? 💚

I cannot live without mine. Very informal. Old table with Mum's marble slab on it. Storage for pots underneath, soil in bin on stool on right. Deep tray and matching scoop, forget the brand, got it years ago.

But not near a tap. 🙁

Early Morning Light in the Veggie GARDEN

1/2 The Head Gardener made these for me over 15 years ago, and they haven't been out for a few years. Some repainted this year. I was going to paint stripes/stars/hearts on some. One day.

And it is not just Gough Whitlam's ASIO file that has been "culled". The relevant Government House Guest Books have disappeared and the archive of Kerr's prominent supporters, including  Lord Mountbatten have been burnt.

Growing your own food is a form of resistance. You don’t need to spend a fortune to do it. Learn how to amend soil. Don’t spend $4-5 per plant at your local shop. Buy seeds. Plant lots of flowers to attract the pollinators. If I can do it, anyone can! Grew so much food, I was gifting it to others.🌱

A friend, is a Ryobi girl, and Santa was good. Not sure what.

I'm an Ozito girl, and love this. Here with small battery pack, eats BIG limbs. But nothing from Santa. Need to organise better. Mulch brought to you by corn. #gardening #mygarden

THREAD To finish 2024, I want to highlight bravery of people who spoke out for our 4 Corners stories this year. By no means an exhaustive list, but blows me away. The ones that really got me are those that didn’t have to do it but chose to because it was the right thing. Give it up for them. 🙌💪❤️
