I see Dr @edgarvlermamd.bsky.social's posts here and in X :)

You know you're getting old when what you learned in training are now changing.

TB updates (from 2020): it's now TPT not IPT, genexpert>afb smear, no more CategoryI, II etc but just Regimen I & II, shortened regimen 4mos instead of 6 for uncomplicated TB.

Congrats @kiefferferraris.bsky.social!!

#TodayinHistory in 1986, the EDSA People Power Revolution triumphed. Dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. lost control of the Philippine military. Corazon C. Aquino was sworn in as 11th President of the Philippines. By 9:25 PM, the Marcos family had fled to Hawaii.

Brings us back to the "old days" when you have to wait for a week for a new episode haha. I think it's a wise move because that 1 hr is so full already and you can't even watch it as white noise - anything more than that will really mimic healthcare burnout 🫠🤪
Taking a week to recover between episodes is probably advisable, but a difficult sell to the newly ‘Pitt’-pilled.

Given Mebendazole 500mg chewable tab but child doesn't want to chew?
Place tablet in a spoon, add about 2-3 mL of clean drinking water. Tablet absorbs water w/in 2 minutes, turning into a soft mass (semi-solid consistency) which can then be swallowed.

Clinicians in 🇯🇵 were paid ~$5.7 when rationale provided to not prescribe 💊 for kids <3y with acute URTI or gastro

There was sustained ⬇️ in ABx (~20%) over 4 yrs w/o signals of harm

Prompted GPT to generate portrait image of a child, then an adult, w/chickenpox & these are the results. Tried to "edit" w/ prompts to rotate the image of the child and to remove those rashes on the shirt but I guess polkadot chickenpox shirts go well with the skin rashes 😅
