Holy shit…You can’t make this up: a plane is circling Soldier Field before the Bears home opener with a banner that reads—

“HEY ICE, MASKS ARE FOR CUCKS.”

Also the trolling is incredible for those that told us to stop wearing masks during the pandemic.

Manager: "What's this milestone 'Living on a prayer' ?"
Me: "That's the documentation deliverable."
Manager: "What's the status of that?"
Me: "We're halfway there"
Manager: "Why is progress so slow?"
Me: "You fired Tommy"
Manager: "So?"
Me: "Tommy used to work on the docs"

My name is so common I'm effectively un-googleable, and that's the way I like it.
Also before any of you come at me with the other John Scalzis WE ALL WORK IN DIFFERENT FIELDS, very few people are confusing the author with the meteorologist with the Broadway set dresser with the former prizefighter, okay

I hadn't realized I won the Goodreads giveaway, but I just received an advance reader copy of The Shattering Peace by @scalzi.com. I can't wait to start reading it.

It's tough coming home and not being greeted by my cat. It didn't really hit me until I got home. He's been a part of my life for the last 13 years.

My dad took good care of him, but I wish I could have been there in his final days.

This little guy passed away last night in his sleep. I took him in after my grandpa died in 2012. I'm unsure of his exact age, but he was around 16-18 years old.

I'm out of town this week, but he was with my parents and was comfortable in his last days.

I'm going to miss him dearly.

We need more town-square guillotines. That would help keep billionaires and politicians in line.
The ultra-rich who profess they shall live forever often discount the guillotine

WIRED's Global Editorial Director @katie-drummond.bsky.social: True or false: You, Bryan Johnson, the man sitting across from me, one day at some point in the future, will die.

Bryan Johnson: False.

From the party of "Anti-Cancel Culture".
"Execs at CBS’s parent company Paramount may have dumped Colbert not to appease Trump, but to join with him. There’s ample evidence that billionaires genuinely, sincerely like Trump’s vision of authoritarian rule by billionaire, and want to do their part to crush dissent and discipline the proles."
CBS cancels Colbert as media continues to turn Trumpward
It's not just bending the knee. It's also oligarchic solidarity.

This is a concentration camp. We have a humanitarian crisis within our borders. We have a constitutional crisis. If they think the protests have been bad, wait until the rebellion starts. At this rate, it won't be long.
