The Kyshawn George secret is out.
Victor Wembanyama is conducting on-court experiments. The Wizards have a gem — maybe more than one. And a team down south has butter fingers.

Time for Friday’s around-the-NBA notebook.

Two Heat thoughts:

1. I dunno what happened to Jaime Jaquez last year but he looks liberated in this new offense.

2. Very curious to see how Tyler Herro fits into this style of play when he's healthy. Can he be decisive off the dribble, or will he bog it down by calling for lots of pick-and-roll?

This is why it's so hard to beat Oklahoma City. They have such a consistent baseline of success with SGA and their defense that they can survive bad shooting nights and/or shaky spells of execution.

We back.
Twenty-plus years after losing its broadcast rights to the NBA, NBC is back, with a new era of NBA coverage starting tonight. And that means John Tesh’s iconic theme, “Roundball Rock,” synonymous with NBC’s package in the ‘90s, is back as well. In @theathletic.com:

Young is still eligible to sign an extension after the 2025-26 season begins.

Becky Hammon coached a hell of a game. Negated the Alyssa Thomas middle pick-and-roll with the zone and by having the guard reach into AT's dribble.

That kept Dana Evans on the floor, and you saw the offensive benefits.

What if "muscle memory" is a myth? What if the very basis for how humans learn new skills is wrong?

A growing number of coaches and athletes see a problem with the way we train.

And they're solving it with a new method called CLA.

CLA is a concept I teach in my undergraduate motor learning class. It’s a counterintuitive approach because the athletes often struggle with performance during practice, but the science is telling. Worse performance in practice that leads to better performance during competition.
