These desires from the president are, at this point, well known. What wasn’t entirely clear was how Republican senators would respond to them when they were put into action. We’re getting our first taste of that now and it’s distressing.

We believe in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, separation of powers, and checks and balances.

The U.S. was founded in opposition to monarchy. We fought for democracy over dictatorship.

What the Trump regime is doing is the antithesis of the values this nation was founded upon.

There are tens of thousands of federal workers in Michigan supporting their families just like my dad did, and Trump is putting these families’ livelihoods in jeopardy.

Why Cory Booker’s Speech Matters
Booker didn’t “accomplish” anything. He was a voice of one crying in the wilderness. And that’s how you build a dissident movement: with simple acts of witness.

Tariffs will be a potent and unilateral mechanism for reintroducing systematic corruption into our economy.

First, Trump can raise or lower tariffs unilaterally.

Second, he can grant exemptions, forcing people, corporations, localities, nations, and foreign actors to seek reprieve on bended knee.

utterly fucking astounding that any Dem would look at what’s happening and think that giving this administration sweeping new authority to prosecute speech on the internet is a good idea
It’s time to repeal Section 230. We must be able to take social media companies to court for addicting kids and enabling drug trafficking on their platforms.
Sen. DURBIN: Fentanyl often gets to our kids and young people through the internet.

Section 230 absolves social media companies from any responsibility. “That has got to end.”
