I don’t expect—and we shouldn’t tolerate—support going to a government that is producing a campaign that looks like the conduct of the belligerents in Sudanese Civil War.

The difference—for instance—is that Ukraine has been engaged in a strike campaign inside of Russia for years with a fraction of a fraction of the civilian casualties that the IDF has. While in an existential conventional conflict.

It is the level of care we ought to expect when providing lethal aid

There are multiple ongoing conflicts that are equally as disastrous in terms of humanitarian suffering and countless examples in recent memory.

Israel’s actions in Gaza aren’t really outside the norm in conflicts. But it is far outside the norms of what we expect from governments we support.
Israel’s war in Gaza combines a staggeringly high death rate, shocking violence toward children, unparalleled physical destruction, and now a world-historical famine.

The world has, by objective measure, never seen anything like this.

To form a more perfect Union, implies as we all know, that we have something imperfect. But to strive for the betterment of all, and to keep striving no matter what - that is the American legacy. “For that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion.”

We strive still.

A government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” has never come easily. It was born in the blood and fire of the Revolution. It was fought for in Congress, on the marches of Civil Rights leaders, in hunger strikes of Suffragettes, in labor strikes, in countless acts of sacrifice

On the specific issue of social welfare, the Democratic Party is explicitly to the Left of the Chinese Communist Party, to the point that it is frequent topic of criticism from the Chinese government.
I am begging people in the left to learn a bit more about China

“If Japan had shown just a little sincerity by sending a representative without controversial ties, this issue wouldn’t have escalated.”

Quote sums it up well. It shouldn't be this hard, but Japan seems to want to make it difficult.
