As noted farther down in the story, the pardons are largely symbolic. They do not affect state charges. But, that probably wouldn’t generate as much traffic.

The pardons include 77 allies tied to efforts to overturn the 2020 election, including Rudy Giuliani, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and former Trump attorney Sidney Powell.

It’s pretty simple.
One side has hearts.
The other side doesn’t.

That doesn’t mean you lose all sympathy. It does mean you must understand how they operate, and respond on that basis.

Last night, the Trump Administration sent a letter suggesting Wisconsin should return our FoodShare payments.

Here is a map of SNAP percentages by state. Lots of his voters. Will this mess ultimately end the shutdown?

Thank you @crampell.bsky.social for sharing this memo from the USDA. It seems like this will be a mess for the states.

Another tale of evangelicals who use their charisma to con the faithful. Burt Lancaster, Jean Simmons, Shirley Jones and a cast of 50s heavies are all on hand. Based on Sinclair Lewis’ (Dodsworth) sto...

Maybe one of the baseball experts on here knows the answer. When teams negotiate with players’ agents, do they have the right to ask for medical records?

If I am bidding on Kyle Tucker, for example, can I request info on his injuries last year and the treatment he received? Or is it confidential?

Don’t you dare write “false” as a reply to me, you anonymous probably a bot account.

Expecting an “unhappy billionaires leaving NYC” folo.

Except they won’t. They didn’t leave London. They won’t leave NYC, either.

It’s probably bad that the first thing I thought was, “That will be some funeral.”

Ian Happ was already the 1st Cubs outfielder to win 3 Gold Glove Awards -- he now has a 4th for his trophy case. Happ is the only NL left fielder to win 4 in a row since the award went position-specific for outfielders in 2011.

Yes, the Dodgers paid big money for Shohei, Yoshi, and Snell, plus Mookie and Freddie. The Blue Jays paid big money for Vladdy and Springer. You can fill in with lower paid players and prospects, but you need superstars.

This is why the Tigers need to pony up for Skubal. Unless they don’t care.

Martha Layne was hugely important to Kentucky and the auto industry. I’m glad she lived a long life. RIP.

People seemed to like picking up (and hugging) Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He’s 5’8” (my height) but when you are surrounded by giant players that must seem small.

So proud of Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Shohei gets the attention (deserved) but Yoshi is a pitcher for the ages.

The Blue Jays were fantastic representatives for Toronto, the AL, the Great Lakes and Canada. Proud of our neighbors. They will get their rings. 💙🇨🇦
Thank you, Toronto Blue Jays, for uniting & lifting the spirits of Canadians in these difficult times. You made us proud to be Canadian.

I can’t emphasize this enough: the pausing of SNAP benefits will be dire. There will be a ripple effect throughout commerce. University of Michigan economist Don Grimes told me, “The loss of SNAP benefits is much worse than the loss of the additional Obamacare subsidies.”
