Today starts our long planned kitchen renovation, so breakfast is a the last of the cold storage: frozen blueberry waffles topped with dulce de leche. Liked it more than I expected, although it was as a bit dry. Thinning the dulce de leche a bit would have been a good idea in retrospect.

I appreciate the thunder and lightening holding off until about 20:30, when the lightening was visible. I love night-time thunderstorms.

Was terminated from my job today. It was such a toxic office that I nearly resigned at least twice a month. Give that, I’m not even upset. Mostly just relieved to be out of there. Hoping for something better on the horizon.

Happy to see my local No Kings protestors along the 295 overpass this morning.

I know that things are bad right now and everyone is stressed. But this at least brought me a smile. An 18 year journey completed and my student loans paid in full. It's a wonderful feeling.

Snow day! Theses are just as good to me now as they were when I was a kid.

Nothing like having your boss gaslight you because he can’t do 30 seconds worth of research before accusing you of being the problem.

It would be great if my boss would tell me what is wrong with the payment packet he’s sending back instead of telling me to fix it. Because it’s not broken ,but he won’t do some basic 3rd grade math to verify that. So frustrating.

What’s the proper circle of hell to wish a micromanager who makes impossible demands then throws a tantrum when told they are impossible to?

Just sitting here for moral support and recipe questions while my husband is shaming the garlic for our soup for sticking to the knife. 🤭

Definitely did not have “martial law declared in South Korea,” on my bingo card this morning either. Wow.
This is absolutely not the news I would have dreamed of waking up to. South Korea's Yoon declares emergency martial law. to I have some scattered thoughts to follow. m-en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN2024...

Spending a nice night making some vegetarian breakfast burritos with my husband. Eggs, black beans, peppers, onions, zucchini, cheese, and cilantro. They’ll be frozen so they are standing by each morning we have to head into the office.

I couldn't agree more. The Democratic Party needs an identity and a vision for America. It can't just be a collection of policies.
The Dems who want to be president should recognize that there’s a real leadership void in Congress, which both imperils their odds at a fair election in four years AND situates them to lead a simmering but currently unorganized opposition. They should step up now. www.offmessage.net/p/democrats-...

Well, here goes another week. Sunny and cold to start with a blip of an internet outage that scared me. Thankfully, it came back and spared me having to go into the office or take vacation time to avoid doing so. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving!

Who needs formal recipes. Had a delicata squash, Brussels sprouts, and a Romanesco cauliflower. Roasted them. Can of kidney beans. Quinoa. Lemon pepper and dried cilantro. A bit of tahini drizzled on. Perfect fall dinner.

I’m so sick of constantly feeling ennui. Mostly stems from feelings like I don’t fit in this country willing to elect a neo-fascist. From working a boring job. From not having a social life. And the early sunsets this time of year. It feels like such a big lift to try and fix any of that.

Just finished my first play through of Veilguard. Than you @trickweekes.bsky.social and the rest of the writing team for giving me the option of my dream ending. Even if you drew plenty of tears from me on the way there.
