I am Micah Cash - visual artist, educator, nonprofit fundraising coach and strategist, D&D player, baseball fan, gardener, dad, amateur tiki enthusiast, and all around nerd.

I'll talk about my artistic projects (past, present, and future), book publications, and general going ons.
Kids are home for two weeks.

I need to finish a painting commission.

Oldest son’s birthday party is tomorrow.

I have some client work to wrap up before the new year.

Nothing is wrapped.

Breathe, Micah. It will be a joyous and (maybe?) restful holiday break.

Paint is still wet on this canvas, so I switched to work on the book.

I’m doing a full resequence and throwing in new images as I continue to query agents and look for a publisher.

Always something to do, make, or refine.

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

Sent my latest e-newsletter to subscribers this week that includes a promo code for $5 off zines.

I’m shipping prints, zines, books, and finishing up some commissions for folks.

Stock up for the holidays, friends. Art makes a great gift!

My friend Tommy will an eloquent and thoughtful reflection of this past week in Charlotte.

It was tense where I live in north Charlotte and many of us were vigilant at schools and bus stops, but the presence wasn't near as heavy as other locations.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

My kids’ school and small “suburban”town in north Charlotte had no sightings today…but it’s only Monday.

Be vigilant. Carry your whistles. Southern hospitality does not apply in these circumstances.

Former UVA president Jim Ryan, who resigned over the summer due to pressure from the Trump Administration, just shared this 12-page letter with the Faculty Senate, detailing his experience with the Board of Visitors and DOJ.

It's a surreal--and troubling--read.

Painting Commission sketches!

I used to do preliminary work with gouache but switched to digital a few years ago.

Here are three options for a client of Carters Dam in Georgia. The client chose the first one, but I kinda want to make all three…
