A big magazine using genAI is saying "we no longer hire people who know how to work with human writers"

They're gonna have an increasingly hard time getting human writers to write for them, the longer that institutional knowledge gets eroded.

A big game company using genAI is saying "we fired the people who know how to get human artists to work with us"

Years later, their problem will be *even worse* because no one at the company will even remember how to do that.

The people who did, will be working elsewhere. Probably not in games.

Because: it's a pipeline. People have to work years to get experience finding artists, convincing them to work for you, managing them, etc.

Tossing those experienced people on their asses, means they are not gonna be there to train new people how to work with artists.

One company deciding to slurp hot dogshit, itself, might only destroy the pipeline for a few hundred or thousand artists.

Every company, simultaneously, sledgehammering their pipeline in order to install a dogshit tap, fucks over every artist from now til after the bubble pops.

Each smallest bit of genai dogshit, represents *hundreds* of artists being fucked over. Not just now, but artists years from now who would have been hired had the company kept paying people to find and hire and manage artists.

"We no longer know how to hire people to make our stuff, and can't really be fucked to care about the consequences" is what genAI promises these companies is a thing that is possible to do

It's not, it revulses consumers and potential employees and *loses a shit ton of money* for everyone but execs

When a company uses genAI voices, it's saying "we no longer know how to work with human voice actors."

The people who did, are gone. They're somewhere else, and they're not there training new people to do that job.

Also as a climate/enviro reporter I have never forgotten about his "third world memo" arguing that it behooves us to dump toxic waste in low-income countries. He argued it was to "stimulate debate" but "devil's advocates are often devils"

Dear Charlotte Observer: kidnapped is the correct word unless you have witnessed the documents charging the person with a criminal act. Lack of immigration status is a civil violation. Your words matter.

It should go without saying that there are many wonderful parents of disabled people who do not do this. However if your instinct is to get defensive about this thread then you might be who this thread is about.

I hope that any parents of disabled children out there reading this will see that this pattern exists in your community and take great care not to fall into these traps. In the end the only person who can truly speak about life with disability is *a disabled person*.

These are folks who talk over any disabled person they encounter to demonstrate their knowledge of lived disabled experiences. They speak for their children and diminish that child’s existence by inflating their own egos. They brag about their advocacy for the community while they do so so much harm
