There's a challenge for @loudribs.bsky.social. Kirkstall Abbey wants a road sign that indicates it isn't an operational church: www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/heritage-and.... It would need to be a brown tourism info sign. I wonder what it could look like

Leeds has a major junction called Dawson's Corner. It was named after a long forgotten land owner
This is a fascinating part of cultural memory - and the question of where it applies to.

it's really common in the UK to see street signs that say "Upper King Street, formerly known as Dead Lane" or something, and you do some reading and the name changed two centuries ago

Er, did I press the wrong "Deactivate X/Twitter" button? Oh dear, how sad, etc
That's my old Twitter account deactivated. Set up a cybersquat account to stop other people from grabbing it. Old stuff is archived at @archive.mhoulden.uk. I also rejigged my phone lock screen. Had test cards on there since at least 2012

What's good for deleting loads of tweets? I looked at a couple of services last night but some cost money and others involve doing weird things in the Javascript console. I don't want to give up my old Twitter handle because there's no saying who else might get it

That's my Twitter archive moved across to @archive.mhoulden.uk. Nearly 18 year's worth of stuff. My final tweet was from 2024. May the site go the same way as Zurker and other failed social networks

Working on the basis that you can't grok what you don't have, I'll shortly move my old tweets to an archive account on here, and then reduce my profile there to a short stub. Been meaning to do it for ages but I'm finally getting round to tidying things up

I was marshalling in the beer tent at a motorbike rally over summer. At the end of the night we were asking people to leave.
