We have so much to repair when the nightmare is over.
For two months, the U.S. government has been racial profiling as masked federal agents hunted for immigrants throughout Chicago. They’ve repeatedly snatched up U.S. citizens while traumatizing communities. “I felt like a piece of trash.” Here is our story www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/15/l...
Latino US citizens racially profiled by federal immigration agents in Chicago: ‘I felt like a piece of trash’
The Tribune spoke to U.S. citizens and green card holders who have either been questioned or detained during Trump’s Operation Midway Blitz.

The U.S. bishops defended migrant families. Tom Homan snapped. Nan Hayworth called Pope Leo a “tool of our enemies.” Tim Burchett accused the church of getting rich off of sex trafficking.

Matt Walsh, Lara Logan, and the rest joined in. This is what MAGA anti-Catholicism looks like.
“Pope Leo Is a Tool of Our Enemies”: Homan Leads MAGA Attacks as Hayworth, Others Pile On
It’s the latest MAGA attack on Pope Leo’s pro-immigrant stance. Disgraced border chief Tom Homan — caught taking a $50,000 bribe in a Cava takeout bag — led the charge against Leo and the bishops.

Having lost the Catholic bishops, ICE proceeds to poke the religious Protestant bear.
Organizers told me that at least 7 faith leaders were among those arrested on Friday.

In a statement posted on X, DHS referred to demonstrators as "imbeciles" who need to "get a job."

One pastor told me "this is our job," adding, "to advocate for the oppressed. religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

I tend to avoid substance via YouTube as it's noisy and slow compared to reading, but this takedown of Deputy AG Todd Blanche over his sham #Epstein interview of now-extra-coddled minimum security inmate Ghislaine Maxwell is worth it.
The Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche, was outed running the Epstein coverup from his office in the Department of Justice. Emails released this week show that his interview with Ghislaine Maxwell was a sham and a betrayal. youtube.com/shorts/hQeKb...

Be afraid. This is not just awful for professors, it's awful for the quality of education.
Message to all faculty: your expertise is no longer trusted or valued at this so-called “university.”

No, wait, the day wasn't over. *This* is the new low. And it's not even 5pm here.
Today, the judge deciding the legality of Lindsey Halligan's appointment said the court reporter stopped transcribing grand jury proceedings in the Comey case at 4:28 PM. That's over TWO HOURS that's missing.

New low? (I feel like I could save a lot of time just saying that five posts a week.)
An interesting tidbit in the joint status report filed in the Broadview ICE facility case today:

ICE says video from inside the facility "between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed" and can't be produced in discovery.

Seems real:"Sunlight after dark"--"Reflect Orbital is delivering sunlight by building a constellation of in-space mirrors." I get the idea of deploying space shields to reduce global warming. Would this increase it? Plus dangers from, er, focusing it ("Diamonds Are Forever")?

Will this pointless, destructive, vicious, military theater in Chicago go into the memory hole? I sure hope not.
NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

The only silver lining in the despicable Democratic collapse over the shutdown ("We won by being strong? Let's never do that again.") is that the House will be back in session, and they'll have to vote on releasing the #Epstein files.

Looks like someone has figured out the value of religious support for any social movement.

Oh, and this is of course thoroughly illegal as a violation of the freedom of religion clause of the First Amendment.

Responsible people wouldn't rely on facial recognition systems given all we know about how they fail. But this is ICE we're talking about...
Could errors from an AI surveillance tool cause ICE to grab and detain you? The agency’s use of facial recognition — and alarming new details on its reckless procedures for doing so — make that sci-fi-sounding nightmare an all too real risk, argues Jake Laperruque.
