Unable to unite with expensive and inchoate plans to renovate Colchester Quaker Meeting House, I have laid down the Wardenship and moved back to my flat in Milton Keynes. New path ahead.

New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

I’m proud of the work that this Labour Government is doing to support the mission of charities like Safe Families and Home for Good – like scrapping the two-child benefit cap which will lift 450,000 out of poverty.

It was lovely to join Show Racism the Red Card in Parliament to celebrate their exhibition about Arsenals first 11 black players.

As we see hateful rhetoric rise, we must combat it by standing together as a community in Milton Keynes and a nation.

MPs interact with vulnerable constituents every day, including survivors of domestic abuse, children and people in crisis. While NHS staff, carers, and social workers all have DBS checks, MPs are not subject to the same safeguarding threshold.

That needs to change.

Criminals are not barred from becoming MPs - but that's set to change
While professionals must pass strict safeguarding checks, candidates for Parliament can stand even if they have a criminal record or appear on sex offender lists

So glad that our Parliament will become the first national parliament in the world to become White Ribbon accredited.

We couldn’t do it without the amazing example that Milton Keynes has set to the nation as the first White Ribbon City in the country. Very proud 🤍

It’s the biggest change to rape law in over a decade.
