Okay block lists (really named moderation lists) can be made by anyone for any purpose. Title and description are supposed to let one know what.

The problem is some bad actors are making them to break up the #StrongerTogether coalition.

The lists (and labels) from skywatch.blue are trustworthy

Again, I'm gonna need people to stay on top of the lists they follow and the people who make them because people will stuff their scarily titled lists with people they just dislike for Petty Fandom Reasons while claiming the list is actually to protect [vulnerable group] from [bigots or predators]

I'm glad I'm not the only one who realized this, but I feel that it's not only in the comments, it's even found on Tt. But honestly my biggest pet peeve with fandoms these days is the lack of media literacy and the need they have to always defend awful and trashy characters even in more mainstream
You can tell a lot about shifts in fandom culture and (separately) reading comprehension from an unlikely space: webtoon comments either on official/pirated sites (as manta and Lezhin don't have comments available) or webtoon forum spaces like Reddit or Novel Updates

This is such a big problem in modern fandom spaces. The sexism, misogyny, racism etc that people display over ships is a baffling phenomenon. If you're uncomfortable with a ship you have the right to say it but your right to free speech ends when you use it to harm others.
And if you're willing to use slurs on people because they ship something you don't... I kinda don't care what you think about problematic ships. Because it's so much more harmful to call another human being one of the worst ableist slurs than it is to be a little tiny bit of a freak in fandom

For extra credit, also consider:

-was this person asking for the advice I’m about to give?
-was this a rhetorical question from someone who knows the literal answer very well already?
-is what I have to say actually relevant or useful?

Every once in a while I like to remind people of these rules of thumb. Before you reply:

-did you read the whole post?
-did you check to see if it’s part of a thread and if what you’re about to say has already been covered?
-have several people already made the same point/comment/joke?

They arbitrarily changed the terms of service without notification to you

ATTENTION!

I just spent over an hour w #Amazon customer service to ask why the Kindle USB transfer option was broken

Turns out

THEY HAVE ALREADY CHANGED THE POLICY. THERE IS NO "LATER THIS MONTH." IT'S DONE

YOU HAVE TO BUY A KINDLE TO TRANSFER YOUR BOOKS

There was no warning 1\

People who use AI to put out content are basically just people who just want the "glory" of writing something without the toil and effort of actually putting thought and love into it.
I'm going to be very real with you, there's no way you (in the abstract) can actually convince me that something with no creativity behind it (GenAI fic) should be considered a creative work on the same level as work a real intense pervert spent time on for fandom.

I know that this isn't an unpopular opinion, but AI, the quarantine, short and fast content ruined both fandom spaces and more "traditional" hobbies.
I am not only talking about people using AI to make content, I'm also talking about how people can't seem to enjoy slow paced stories and-

Maximum inclusivity of fanworks is one thing but if a fan didn't create it - because they prompted genAI or copied a chat with c dot ai bot or whatever and prompting isn't creation even with edits - then that is not a FAN work and shouldn't be treated or protected as such on the ao3, you feel?

This seems like such a basic requirement to classify something as eligible for posting on AO3. I don't want to read machine garbage. If I click on something on AO3 I want to see something made from scratch by a fellow human with an excess of feelings about blorbos or whatnot.

You knew my opinion about still posting on Twitter(X) before, and I don’t know what to tell you if you still post there now.

I used to LOVE that place with all my heart and it brought me friends, fans, fangirl honors and a career, but it’s dead. It’s dead guys. It’s dead.

It might hurt my bottom line, but I’m probably going to stop posting art to Twitter entirely and I suggest you do too.

Not only is the site actively putting a “Okay, now remix this” button below art (and elevating them above the OP with a QRT) and it’s false flagging original art as made by AI.

I think part of the issue is that some people don't see fandoms as communities anymore. It's about "content" and fic writers and artists are nothing but content creators that are expected to cater to people's wants and needs.

I have so many things to say about this, however I will need some time to put everything in order to explain how dumb the take about LADS being a "gooner-game" for having a period tracker. Especially considering that the men that are mad about it are missing the point that is right in front of them.
So I just recently heard about the drama around LADS and it's so funny because the people (men) that are mad are just proving our point. Especially the old egghead that is hated by many fandoms, he-who-shall-not-be-named if you want.

You don't owe anybody anything, especially people trying to bully you with moralising. Making process videos and streaming is time consuming and sometimes feeling "watched" hurts the creative process. This take only hurts artists.

Artists are already struggling as it is. Having to be their own marketing and social media managers, beating the algorithm, art theft, people treating our art as mere products.

As much as I appreciate people sharing their creative process, we don't owe people any more proof that we're real artists.
