Pictures of flapjack octopuses often get mislabelled as dumbo octopuses. Here's how you can tell the difference:

Flapjack octopuses have small fins, and look like a scoop of ice cream or stack of pancakes.

Dumbo octopuses have large fins, and look like a cartoon ghost.

I've lost over 800 followers on Twitter since the election. This push to leave Twitter is not like the times before. It's real.

I am so glad everyone here found a place where they feel better about connecting with others. I am so glad I don't have to scroll through non-stop hate and dildo ads.

It’s so nice to be at the stage of a lifetime of a platform when everyone mostly agrees the people running it are working hard and doing a good job. Let’s enjoy that while we can!

Of all the tokens, and various MTG related illustrations I've done and posted on Twitter over the years, this baby Emrakul was (by far) my most successful one, so here it is now in Bluesky.

I guess people like cute things 😅

Having experienced them all:

It took me twelve years (!) to build up my audience on Twitter. It took 5 days to surpass the 50% point of my Twitter following on Bluesky. I’m hopeful that the overall growth on this site will negate the need to go on Twitter altogether. Sad to see what it devolved into, but thrilled to see it die.

Many of us are echoing @timothysnyder.bsky.social's lesson in On Tyranny, "Do not obey in advance.”

A no less vital admonition that deserves attn:

STAND OUT

“...without that unease, there is no freedom. The moment you set an example, the spell of the status quo is broken, and others will follow."

I just watched “Saturday Night,” the new movie about the first episode of SNL. It’s a perfectly fantastic film. Wonderfully written, cast, acted, and directed. I marveled at how good it is. See it as soon as you can.
