I became a newbie DM a couple of weeks ago and am currently just past session three of the campaign. I would love any advice I can get. The world is set in my first novel, and I'm having so much fun with it, but I'm struggling with giving depth to NPCs a little bit.

I first read The Fellowship of the Ring when I was 10 years old. I got hooked and started reading the series along with The Hobbit almost every year since.

I stopped after the weight of college courses became too much and I couldn’t focus on books for pleasure reading as easily any more.
