Care delayed is care denied. Cancer patients simply cannot afford to wait. Timely access to scans for both diagnosis & disease and treatment monitoring is detrimental to outcomes.

Action is desperately needed.

We welcome @hselive.bsky.social approval of Enhurtu for HR2-low MBC.

Cancer patients in Ireland have waited 2.5 years to access this EMA approved drug. Reform of our drugs reimbursement system is needed to deliver timely and fair access for all patients.

Please take a moment to read UCAN response to comments attributed to Prof Michael Barry NCPE. We as patients & advocates are deeply concerned about this discrediting of oncologist who are calling for drug reimbursement in a system that's badly failing patients.

Every person facing a cancer diagnosis deserves timely access to the best standards of care and novel treatments. Ireland is failing here, we are almost bottom of the table in comparison to our European counterparts. Change MUST happen. Patients simply don't have time to wait #UnitedCancerVoicesIE

My usual excitement around the treatment advancements showcased at ASCO and similar is slowly being replaced by utter sadness that growing numbers of cancer patients in Ireland won't benefit due to growing inequalities in access. Where you live and ability to pay should never decide your faith 😞

☀️🕶️ SUNSCREEN FOR YOUR EYES?!
Yes, you read that right.

Most people know to lather up their skin with SPF...
🧴 But your eyes need protection too!

👁️‍🗨️ UV exposure is a risk factor for eye cancers, including rare but serious types like ocular melanoma (OM).

How do patients in Irelands public health system fair out in comparison to our European counterparts when it comes to timely access to best new cancer treatments? 🧐

It's not good news.

It's shameful.

People are dying waiting.
