Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.

Genuinely think anyone can “git gud” at any creative craft they are interested in. If we wanted to actually “democratize” art we would invest in housing, healthcare, food and education as human rights. All GenAI does is make people even more financially precarious and less able to pursue a passion
I think a bit of the "AI is democratizing art" argument is trying to avoid the ugly truth that to get good at anything you have to do a lot of it. I grew up "knowing" I was a good writer, but I really wasn't until about 700k words, and it took reading hours of scripts to really have a voice

What bugs me about the intentional devaluing of art by tech is that almost anyone can actually learn how to art. Like, it takes time, and failures abound, but the myth that some people just pop out of the womb with a can or can't stamped on their heads is a crock.

Thinking how resilient creatives are these days. been really tough staying focused and inspired to create, when it feels like everyone thinks our jobs are going obsolete. How many times has art endured centuries of struggle yet here we are. Cheers to us who still paint on Sundays, despite it all 💖🥂

A LOT of artists are doing Black Friday sales this year. Like, way more than I've seen in years past. That tells me that SO many of us need people buying our art. Please please please buy from artists in the coming weeks and consider us throughout the year when purchasing gifts.

Wish more people realised that for most art businesses, there's only one person doing all the work. Creating, shipping, admin, promotion, starting feuds with other artists, painting unflattering portraits of them into historical scenes, trying to poison them, it's all one person.

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore."
I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT.
We win by living our lives as loudly and truly as we can. That includes your "silly" art project.

hi this is my stelle magical girl doodle thing, pretty much her power is baseball so when an enemy is in her vision they get to play baseball with her (caelus is the catcher/hologram thingy she interacts with or smth idk)
