Several food banks have begun issuing statements to communities asking for donations as the need for food assistance has increased and is expected to increase even more in November as the USDA has announced that SNAP benefits will not go out.

I can't understate just how courageous Jack Smith is and has been. The letter his legal team wrote yesterday is amazing work. But it also underscores the TRUE FUCKING PERIL that truth tellers are facing!

At least eighteen right-wing outlets agreed to the president's absurd new media rules, ranging from conspiracy pusher Gateway Pundit, through to MyPillow tycoon Mike Lindell’s LindellTV.

Together, they essentially function as megaphones for the Trump administration.

I think it's crazy that some on the left see the right beginning to muse about ending the filibuster and thinking it's a good thing.

They would consolidate power in such a way that makes Dems coming back unfeasible.

And historian @jbf1755.bsky.social this AM in her fantastic weekly talk:

We can no longer pretend to have a normally functioning democratic republic form of government today.

It isn't surprising, but it needs to be said.

Teachers and American citizens can no longer rely on official government websites for information.

They are bluntly, grievously partisan.

Take a look at the White House page below for an example.
I am devastated by the way this was handled too. But the administration’s decision to use the official government website to spread lies & propaganda is equally troubling.

Please look over the WH Building site.

If Donald Trump continues at his current pace and the U.S. national debt keeps rising by $23 billion per day from $38 trillion in October 2025, it could reach approximately $64.8 trillion by December 2028, a debt increase of $26.8 trillion.
The US hit an all-time high $38 trillion in national debt, thanks to Donald trump.

This marks a +$500 Billion jump in October, or +$23 billion per day, again, thanks to Donald Trump.
