She’s been lots of places and has seen lots of things. She knows a little bit about a lot. All that, and more, with a brain full of bees! 🐝

It’s important to give credit where it’s due. The Pendleton Civil Service Reform Act was signed into law in 1883 by VP turned President Chester Arthur, a shock to all, and much needed given the status quo at the time.

A very relevant bit of history to learn.

Does anyone have an address in Ohio that someone could boop beep into the GPS and drive to where they can just pull over, be completely alone with no one within hearing range, to scream into the void as loud as possible for as long as needed?

Asking for myself.

What if every American sends an email about 5 things we did last week?

So far, the most interesting story has been that of the Spencers (yes, of the Diana variety).

I love history.

I’ve spent this week binging so much Hulu and Netflix because I can barely move. Last night I started Million Dollar American Princesses, a Smithsonian docuseries about the American heiresses that infused the British monarchy with money by marrying Dukes and Lords in the 1800’s.

The plague has caught up to me. Day 2 of being stuck in bed watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has come to an end. The NyQuil will soon take me off to the planet of creepy dreams, but at least it is sleep.

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F$&K.
taking black kids away from their parents and putting them on farms seems really familiar to me! what could it be?
Even the most disturbing RFK Jr. headline always manages to have a detail inside creepier than you could have imagined. I’m sorry, did you just say Black kids should have a chance to get “re-parented”???? Gift link wapo.st/4hW2xGI

Correct. This is a President of the United States declaring himself a dictator.

And instead of Americans understanding that we’re now under imminent threat of martial law and tyranny, we’ll get a month of think pieces about what the President of the United States meant by his UNAMBIGUOUS statement.
This is fascism.

On Feb. 14th I try always to give honor to one of the greatest contributors to American democracy in our nation’s history, Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery, Douglass never knew his actual birthdate, and adopted Feb. 14th as the day. His penetrating insights about our country inspire me daily.

Why is it that every time I get my brows threaded, I feel like I go from a horrifying troll to an ethereal goddess? It’s like magic.

Well Paddington in Peru was very cute. I laughed, I teared up, and I ate all my curly fries. A most excellent Valentine’s Day date with myself. ☺️

It’s been months and I still can’t stop listening to Lola Young’s Messy on repeat. The most relatable song.

I’m so quirky that I walked out of Target with the basket I had all my items in. After I paid. And was halfway to my car.

I did take it back inside, but no one stopped me so I could have absolutely made off with it, no questions asked.

I had nothing to do tonight for Valentine’s Day and at first I was a little sad about it because I love Valentines Day, but then I remembered *I* love me and *I* want to see the new Paddington movie so now I have plans with myself. 🍿 🐻 💕💁🏻‍♀️

From now on, if I do something illegal, I’m just going to be like “Meh. So says you, but we can do what we want.”

Oh, right, that only works for wealthy white men and dweebs from South Africa who aren’t even here legally but are allowed to commit treason without any accountability.

America right now feels like we are in the room with parents who are yelling at their son to not light the curtains on fire, while being incapable of actually doing anything to stop it.

The courts keep yelling stop and yet…NOTHING.

An American flag built on the backs of Black people...

Black music protesting white political terror in registers they never hear; reminiscent of ancestral spirituals embedded with instructions for runaways

All this in New Orleans... What a moment
