My main series is "Critical Eyes": which is a full analysis and breakdown of Critical Role as I watch it LIVE for the very first time! It's a ton of fun :)

As someone that has hired artists before, I am BEGGING you: if you're using social media to network or for work in any way, PLEASE get rid of any "aspiring" or "hopeful" qualifiers before your title.
It's someone else's job to decide if you're qualified, don't make it easy for them to count you out.

Every habit I have is an ADHD coping strategy, so bear that in mind, but: Timers.

Setting timers for tasks motivates me to start ('I hit go, time to start'), keeps me on-task ('timer is going, gotta be doing the thing'), and helps prevent scope creep ('timer's going off, time to finish up')
Ok wait

What’s your best, most impactful, small habit that you’ve embraced that you like and would recommend to others?

I'm almost positive that #redone made a Drew Gooden reference

About 20 minutes into #redone, and, holy shit. I think this is the first #SCP Christmas movie.

How early do you get to the airport for a domestic flight?

I get my wife not wanting to stress, but sitting at the gate 2 hours before boarding even starts makes me wish I was in bed 😴

"Dead End" with that cadence is the ironic joke at the start of a zombie comedy
Reading out random road signs with the same cadence and energy as “road work ahead”

Not that I can think of. BUT, I do think BG3, using mostly RAW 5e, does this many times convincingly. I think the issue is more medium than system. Imo, video games are an inherently more visual medium than TTRPGs, and thus we get, essentially, visual foreshadowing more often in them.
I hear it brought up a lot in ttrpg design talk, but has a game translated area of effect telegraphing from mmorpgs over to a ttrpg in a compelling way?

"wait" is a magic word in D&D

Player: "I take a bite of the fruit from the cart"

DM: "Wait, you take a bite?"

Player: *breaks out in cold sweat*

My current favorite is Blades in the Dark, which is all about pools of D6. There are theoretically used for the other dice, but the D6 is definitely the main event
it's always the same with dice in tabletop rpgs. the big one with the 20 tells you if you succeed and the others tell you how much damage you did.

has anyone tried different dice? or even a game with no dice?

My favorite lesser-known bias is the "narrative bias", which is the human tendency to perceive information as part of a larger pattern or story, regardless of if there is any evidence of that.

We definitely narrativize, but I'd say that that itself sort MAKES all games storytelling games in a way
All games generate stories as a byproduct. Play a board game & you absolutely will come away with a story. Even simple games like chess generate stories (“my knight sacrificed themselves for a swift end to war”). Is every game therefore a storytelling game? Or do humans just like to narrativize?

For my next in person #dnd table, I want to get a big wheel with 1-20 that players have spin for important rolls.

It plays sad trombone on a nat 1

(I'm moving one of my biggest twitter threads here, cause I think it will be helpful to keep it alive)
A thread with free resources (or super cheap) that we can use on #ttrpg creation.
Basically images, illustrations, vectors, fonts and so on

This is just describing all human life before the age of 5.

And I agree. Terrible game, 0/10
Terrible Game Idea: IKEA roguelike. Traverse a maze of furniture, collect random trinkets with unpronounceable names, try to find the exit.

I wish I could gnaw wood like a beaver. I would gnaw a small statue of a beaver and name it Jerry :)

Video game:
A dragon for my dungeon
Romance sim meets house flipper, where you have to design a deadly dungeon to win the affections of a local cast of hot single dragons

I'm the exact opposite. Karlach was actually nice to me within the first 5 seconds of meeting her and I decided I would burn down the multiverse if it would make her happy.
What type of NPC makes you automatically know you’re going to romance them? For example mine is: if a girl is mean to me then I instantly commit to making her my wife.

If you want to make truly amazing BBEGs for your games, build a heroic character first.

And then corrupt them.

Dungeon Masters, how do you differentiate investigation and perception? Especially so that they get similar screen time?

I've been trying to really nail down when I call for either, because up to recently it's mostly been vibes-based.

Better yet: a tiefling who only has one horn instead of a nose and can use an action to dig for yummy roots like a Rhino
i think tieflings should be allowed an action to headbutt enemies like deers with their horns

My strat for this has been to fill up more and more of my brain's limited capacity with cartography knowledge.

Should I learn Spanish, a language I theoretically developed a broad basis for over 8 years in school and would legitimately improve my day-to-day? Nah, memorize more pretty maps
trying to get dumber
