In hashtag game days I was a big star.
“Mom are politicians bad or good “

“Oh they are bad, some are reasonable to ok but some are worse than the worst thing you can think of and they are the ones in power. Here are your family members who voted for them.”

I think about this quote from LA Story at least once a week:

…"Hey... life is pretty stupid; with lots of hubbub to keep you busy, but really not amounting to much." Of course I'm paraphrasing: "Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." “

In the last chapter of Alice’s memoir, “Year of the Tiger,” she wrote her own future obituary.

The wonderful “oracle, storyteller, cyborg, trouble-maker, activist, night owl” we loved so much closed it with:

“Enjoy all of Alice’s good shit, and may you create some good shit as well.”

Welp I went to a website once without disabling cookies and now that’s all I see whenever I click anything that has paid remarketing ads. I kinda don’t want it anymore.

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

Regular reminder: when you get a survey after a food delivery or some work training, unless it was absolutely terrible you give the highest possible rating or decline to rate if an option. The way it works- anything less than highest score hurts the people working on it, never the company.

If you love data like I do (which is a lot, and not just in a SQL way) you’ll appreciate the house that has a kid counter every year and posts a graph of counts of previous years. My picture was super blurry, unfortunately but it is the best. (Kid was #273 at like 6:30)

Cool fun thing about losing your hearing is when people get mad at you when you ask them to repeat themselves - bonus points if you ask twice because the first repeat was at the same volume as the first time they said it

Making an effort to support local farms, farm stores, and farmers markets. Especially those that take SNAP and rely on that income and will be affected soon. ESPECIALLY those that have now set up food banks and support, and will be donating to them.
