NEW: One of my favorite columnists, @jenrubin.bsky.social has left the WaPo, to join with Norm Eisen in launching a new publication: The Contrarian. In a parting kick in the nuts to Bezos, the tagline is: “Not owned by anybody.” Rubin told CNN it's pro-democracy, with two dozen contributors aboard.

Can’t even MAGA see how destructive & obscene this is?
The combined net worth of America's twelve wealthiest people passed $2 trillion last year.

12 people. $2 trillion.

Meanwhile, U.S. homelessness increased 18% in 2024.

Our problem isn’t an issue of resources.

Our problem is ever-expanding wealth inequality.

ICYMI, China carried out a cyber-attack on 9 telecom giants, including Verizon and AT&T -- giving them access to your calls and texts.

‘In a new realm’: China’s escalating cyberespionage leaving the U.S. ‘so vulnerable’
On Friday, the U.S. announced sanctions on China’s Integrity Technology Group, a cybersecurity firm linked to the Chinese hacking group Flax Typhoon, which has been accused of carrying out a litany of cyberattacks on Americans in recent weeks. China’s escalating cyberespionage campaign against the U.S. and its allies is one of the more overlooked stories, yet its stakes are intensifying. As cyber-attacks ramp up, top China cybersecurity expert Samm Sacks argues that the U.S. must decide whether to take a hardline approach in regulating critical industries vulnerable to attack. “Our system is so vulnerable,” says Sacks, we could find ourselves “essentially rebuilding it from scratch.”

I guess the new slogan for the Washington Post ought to be:

Jeff Bezos never wanted this cartoon to become public.

He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit.

Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.

They are also paying Trump extortion money to ward off threatened retaliations for not spreading his propaganda enough, reprisals that include restricting/regulating their businesses and/or breaking them up.

I think we all wish they were better actors as a group. And the anti trust actions will hopefully clean some things up. Just realize they all look at this as their own version of Survivor. They each know that any of them could be the next IBM. A once dominant company turned into an afterthought

They just know they can’t let Trump write an executive order or make a move that changes the balance of AI power. And honestly, despite all the things to despise (and admire ) about each, it’s in the interest of national security and our economy for the dominant AI companies to be American

They don’t care about Trump. But they can’t let him put his “thumb on the scale “ and push them back, or one of the others forward.

Giving millions and kissing a ring when trillions are at stake, is nothing.

The Ring Kissers truly don’t know where AI will take their businesses or the world.

Why are Bezos, Zuckerberg, Musk, Pichai and Tim Cook visiting and giving money to Trump ?

Because they are in “The Race “ to become the dominant platform in the world.

Amazon/Anthropic vs FB/LLama vs Google/Gemini vs Twitter/Grok, vs IPhones/ChatGpt is the penultimate global power war ever.
