Nurses fighting against corporate greed…I’ve been digging into this for a new book. if academics or sociologists are feeling hopeless, check out some of the top nurse influencers and how pissed off and organized they are becoming…
🧵 A tiny baby. Not breathing. The desperate mom pulls into a shuttered ER. Nurses—off duty, protesting the closure—rush to save her child.

THIS is the future the GOP is pushing: Medicaid gutted so millionaires have tax cuts. Closed hospitals.
Dead children.
And they do. not. care.

This is an extremely helpful thread.
Ezra Klein's most recent podcast correctly identifies that there's been a regime change in the US government, & he even uses a game metaphor at one point, but because he doesn't know about the multiple games framework, he flounders by falling into his default technocratic mode of analysis. (Thread)

I’ve taught a few conservatives in my classes and while they usually start off skeptical, by the end of the semester they tend to like the class. It’s because sociology teaches you how to make and evaluate arguments about the social world with evidence. And who doesn’t like to win arguments?
As red states begin attacking sociology, be sure to remind your Republican friends/family that Reagan was a sociology major. Not my favorite fun fact but 🤷‍♂️
