June 19, 1865 marked a turning point in American history and a hard truth that freedom in America has never arrived for everyone all at once.

This Juneteenth, let's honor that relentless spirit of liberation and the abolitionists who righteously fought to secure it.

The treatment of Senator Alex Padilla is disgraceful — no matter how you look at it.

If this is how the Trump Administration treats a sitting U.S. Senator, we should all be alarmed.

The latest move by the Trump administration to share personal information of Medicaid recipients with DHS should deeply concern everyone.

Targeting families for their immigration status is a dangerous breach and we’re exploring all avenues to protect their information.

Farmworkers are hiding because Trump made them targets.

Without farmworkers, the crops that feed our nation rot and our tables go empty.

This isn’t strong immigration policy — it’s economic sabotage fueled by hate.

Seventeen years ago as Mayor of San Francisco, I had the incredible honor of marrying Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin in what became California’s first legal same-sex union.

That day, their love reaffirmed what I've always known to be true: LGBTQ rights are human rights.

The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered.

Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again.

Their inaction is deadly.

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.
Whoa! NYC mayoral candidate and current city Comptroller Brad Lander seemingly arrested at the NYC immigration court while attending to escort someone attending their hearing.
Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

This Paul Weiss capitulation is the most disgraceful action by a major law firm in my lifetime, so appalling that I couldn’t believe it at first.

Any lawyers at that firm—partners or associates—who don’t promptly resign will defile their moral and professional reputations beyond repair.
