this confirms something i have long suspected, which is that certain people are told that their professional and academic failures are because of “affirmative action” or “DEI” as a way to avoid difficult conversations about their mediocrity www.wsj.com/lifestyle/ca...
You Blamed DEI for Hurting Your Career. Now What?
For people who pin their failures on diversity, corporate America’s DEI retreat removes a barrier—or maybe an excuse.

This episode is now unlocked on all platforms. I learned a hell of a lot from these brilliant folks. And their courage inspired me to stop self-censoring about what I think is going wrong on the left.

Highly recommend supporting The Fire These Times and the whole From the Periphery network.

You will read countless times today that the LA mayor cut the LA Fire Department's budget by $23 million.

That is a lie.

The budget was actually *increased* by $50 million.

That's how much Big Oil has spent over the last 30 years paying off Congress to look the other way on climate action while the planet burns.

Well, the planet is burning.
Don't let them look away.

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳

Four years ago right now. This was our evacuation team that got us out of the Capitol. When they knocked on our hiding place door, they had a code word & we had a response word so we knew they were actual USCP. You can see them holding back rioters. The “Join Us!” chant to cops was stomach turning.

'happy new year', that trite ol' pro forma greeting now seems like a wildly unlikely, delusionally hopeful cri de coeur. anyway, happy (oh dear god please) new year.

www.nytimes.com/interactive/... The pace of the bombing ... made it far harder to vet targets properly. Israel dropped or fired nearly 30,000 munitions into Gaza... at least 30 times more than the U.S.-led coalition fired in the first seven weeks of its bombing campaign against ISIS.
Eight Takeaways: How Israel Weakened Civilian Protections When Bombing Hamas Fighters
A New York Times investigation found that Israel severely undermined its system of safeguards when striking Gaza, and used flawed methods to find targets and assess the risk to civilians.
