I find this rhetoric odd. Yes, I do recall many Americans forgetting party lines and coming together...I also remember a lot of racism against anyone who even remotely looked middle eastern or practiced Islam. These rose colored glasses that get put on the past are alarming and detrimental.

Whoever is putting hateful, racist, transphobic, and a whole host of disgusting identifiers that was Charlie Kirk, on the same level as MLK and JFK is absolutely disgusting. They may not have been perfect men but they were vastly superior to the scum Kirk was. Purifying his hate is pathetic.

Trump just signed an exec order purporting to require a passport (or a few other docs) to register to vote. The president doesn't have the power to override a law passed by Congress. This is the SAVE Act but much worse. It is an illegal power grab that would block tens of millions from voting.
