First Medium post ever!

Everyday Economy is a conceptual tool to help us communicate better about economic realities that impact our daily lives. I’m not an economist, but words matter, and I think we can do better.

The Problem with How the US Talks About Economy: A Proposed Framework
Note: This might be an issue everywhere, but I’m in the US so it’s the context I understand best.

You ever just sit down and realize that the rise of 21st century fascism is capital's answer to climate change?

Maybe I’m just stupid but I truly don’t understand the people who thought the Philly Detroit game was going to have a high score. These are two of the best defenses in football, going at it hard. Why in the world was the over/under 46.5? #nfl

I will protect Howie Roseman with my LIFE. Talent whisperer, contract wizard, legend. No other single person is responsible for more football joy in my life than this man.
Jaelen Phillips is HIM!

He did it again…lol

I just want to thank Carson Wentz for being the gift that keeps on giving because yet again the trades he brought us are my favorite things #nfl #eagles

“The refs bailed the Eagles out!”

My brothers and sisters in Christ, Detroit scored NINE POINTS in 58 minutes of football.

I don’t think people are fully grasping what’s about to happen with the Epstein files. Everyone’s treating this like it’s just another “which famous guy was on the list” moment. It’s… not that.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

Listen, I’m all done apologizing for defending the Humanities. After spending much of the last 4 decades arguing about why they matter, we’re watching a very hard lesson about it in real time.

I think it’s about time we stopped being embarrassed about it.
Maybe it’s just the Humanities professor in me, but let it be noted that events of today (ahem) have demonstrated the value of being able to assess a large volume of qualitative data and do careful textual analysis with deep attention to context.

This. The gap between their words (GREAT economy, market, improve, etc) and you “feeling it” aren’t really a gap. It’s just that they only measure the success of the wealthy and then average it in as if it helps everyone.
Because markets keep making money for people with investments; private equity keeps making money for investors while destroying all it touches and; private credit will doom anyone desperate to borrow. Gambling will be the perceived means to make money because there will be no jobs! Totally fucked.

I. Love. Defensive. Football.

There is no actual way to convey the level of joy that #eagles defenses have brought me over the years (still love ya Dawk ❤️) but the current moment? I thank the football gods every damn day for this crew and coordinator.
THIS IS A DEFENSE FIRST TEAM WHEN YOU BEGIN TO REALIZE THIS YOU WILL ENJOY WATCHING THEM PLAY FOOTBALL A LOT MORE

Who could have POSSIBLY predicted this? I mean, the 1919 White Sox, obviously, and Pete Rose. And Tim Donaghy. But WHO ELSE?

Long sigh.
In the last month, the FBI has charged players from two different leagues for roles in sports-betting scandals.

Either legalized gambling is exposing corruption that’s always been there.

Or it’s creating it.

Either answer is terrible for sports.

I absolutely love my fellow #eagles fans but we can’t seem to take yes for an answer 🤷🏻‍♀️
sirianni is now the third most-winningest coach in Eagles history. He's only behind Greasy Neale and Andy, and has a miniscule shot of tying Neale this season.
my theory is Sirianni is trying to get fired so he can coach the Titans

Lane Johnson gets to decide to play because honestly, who is gonna tell him he can’t? Would YOU? #eagles
November 11, 2025 at 4:02 AM
Carter is held on every play every week and NEVER gets the call. He’s so good the refs think he can’t be held and refuse to see it #eagles
Jalen Carter is getting held on every play. Every single one. And this is what happens when you play prevent. You can’t do that against a good team like this. Gotta blitz Love b/c he gets frazzled easily. Smh

Well, reading the posts about the game tonight, I guess I owe the #NFL a begrudging apology for all my complaints about their stupid “offense driven league” nonsense because despite watching some FANTASTIC defensive football (both teams) all anyone can do is complain about no score 🙄🙄🙄 #eagles

Sebastian not only didn’t vote, he says it’s because “they’re all the same so what’s the point?”
Clint voted for Cuomo.
My girl Abigail volunteered for Mamdani and punches nazis regularly.
Who each of the Stardew Valley characters voted for in the NYC Mayoral Election, a thread:

Elliott: Mamdani, before going to a slam poetry night and bombing
Harvey: Mamdani, because he wants his patients to have more money to afford medical care
Sebastian: Didn't vote, and needed to tell everyone

Read this thread. This is what @katmabu.bsky.social was protesting, and why she repeatedly says getting beaten up by ICE outside is nothing compared to the torture and crimes being committed inside Broadview. These thugs must be held to account.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

I cannot believe the way that people are just breezing right past the point that all of their arguments boil down to something like, “Our policies and ideas are so deeply unpopular that we have to weaken democracy in order to make them law—and we should.”

This should be easy. Keep it simple.

Looking forward to the Green Wave™️ of billionaires moving out of NYC to TX only to find out that they can’t take midtown with them.
Oh wait, they were just throwing a tantrum. My bad.

Well at least MAGA didn’t like Dick Cheyney either so you’re unlikely to be illegally fired and/or jailed for saying what a terrible person he was.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

It will never not be funny to me that Tom Brady (yes, that Tom Brady) believes in Jalen Hurts more than some Eagles fans, who seem to think doomposting on Bluesky is high football IQ. #NFL
