Another Blue pentagon is inlaid in the gold at the bottom point of the shield. The sword in the characters left hand is a stylized curved shape, which curves outwards near the hilt, inwards along the edge of the blade, and then curves together as a semi-rounded tip. A blue pentagon is inlaid in a gold decoration. At the tip of the sword are three fan like decorative blue segments with gold trim near the outside end. The fore and back ground show the character cutting through rolling waves, with white sea spray splashing around her and further in the background. The water rather than purely blue, is a gradient between blue and green, the green is where the water is shallow An illustration with a composition that is arranged vertically. The artwork depicts a character wearing a roller derby outfit design in the context of a fantasy world, with large fantastical roller skates. She sits on a floating rock while resting one of her feet on a smaller rock. She looks up towards the sky where a large airship flies past larger floating islands that are in the distance. Clouds and stylized wind currents swirl around the islands and both the character and airship.

Begging people to stop going "looks AI" when an image of something that looks strange like a weird car or something that just doesnt match your expectations of reality

Im of the opinion that normalizing discounting something as AI cause it looks "weird" hurts everyone, especially artists

My even more unpopular opinion is unless you have personally experienced the thing, you should probably refrain from having an opinion on it.

We need to return to shaming people for parroting YouTube/TikTok with stuff like "When I want your opinion, I'll just find the YouTuber who gave it to you."

Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.

the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

Update November 22. We’ve updated this article after realising we contributed to a perfect storm of misunderstanding around a recent change in the wording and placement of Gmail’s smart features. The settings themselves aren’t new, but the way Google recently rewrote and surfaced them led a lot of people (including us) to believe Gmail content might be used to train Google’s AI models, and that users were being opted in automatically. After taking a closer look at Google’s documentation and reviewing other reporting, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Gmail does scan email content to power its own “smart features,” such as spam filtering, categorisation, and writing suggestions. But this is part of how Gmail normally works and isn’t the same as training Google’s generative AI models. Google also maintains that these feature settings are opt-in rather than opt-out, although users’ experiences seem to vary depending on when and how the new wording appeared. It’s easy to see where the confusion came from. Google’s updated language around “smart features” is vague, and the term “smart” often implies AI—especially at a time when Gemini is being integrated into other parts of Google’s products. When the new wording started appearing for some users without much explanation, many assumed it signalled a broader shift. We’ve revised this article to reflect what we can confirm from Google’s documentation, as it’s always been our aim to give readers accurate, helpful guidance.

In Super Mario Bros. Special, there is exactly one Piranha Plant in 7-4 that appears off-center, rising and falling from the rim of a pipe. What's more, to even see him, you have to kill all of the Piranha Plants on the previous screen, otherwise, he'll fail to spawn in due to an unrelated bug.

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead
